The Ministry of Finisterre Vision to Papua New Guinea has the specific goal of reaching the lost people who live in the Finisterre mountain range. The Finisterre Mountains are so remote that there are still 53 people groups who have not yet heard the gospel message of Jesus Christ. In reality, the last time they heard from their creator was Genesis 11 at the Tower of Babel.
Without the logistics coordinator to assist the missionary teams, the task becomes near impossible and progression towards sharing the Gospel with the people becomes prolonged.
The task that the teams of missionaries in the mountains have before them is immense and takes time. The things the missionary teams must accomplish in order to present the Gospel and plant a church in a remote village are:
- Build a house for themselves to live among the people
- Learn a difficult language
- Develop an alphabet and grammar for the language
- Translate the Bible to their language
- Teach the people to read their language
- Preach the Gospel
- Disciple new believers
- Establish a local Church with qualified Elders
For these things to take place the missionaries must stay dedicated to the mission. Normal everyday things can take away from them completing an already difficult task. Stuff as simple as getting groceries can take lots of coordination. The role that we are going to serve in as the Logistic Coordinator for Finisterre Vision, is a critical position that frees the missionaries from the burdens of everyday life’s necessities, and allows them to continue with their mission to reach the people who need to hear of Jesus and his redemptive love. Without the logistics coordinator to assist the missionary teams, the task becomes near impossible and progression towards sharing the Gospel with the people becomes prolonged.
